The Pearl Harbor Wildcats are named after the WWII Grumman F4F Wildcat Fighter. The Wildcat had a top speed of 318 MPH and due to its ruggedness and innovative tactics it was the primary fighter in the early battles in the Pacific. The Wildcat played a key role in the battles at Wake Island, Coral Island, Midway, and Guadalcanal.
